BERNARD, Sylvia Mae
Passed from this life on May 9, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer, to eternal life, to be with the Lord and her mother, Lilieth Mary Bernard. Sylvia was born in Pittsfield, MA, on Oct. 17, 1943, and was raised in Lyndonville, VT. Most of her life she resided in Northern Calif., where she retired as a transit bus driver form the Santa Clara Transportation Agency. Sylvia received many Safety and Good Driver awards during her 25 years of service. Beloved partner of Bette Soule; a dear sister of Leo Morin and Irene Colbert of MA, Lucien Bernard of AK, Richard Bernard of CA, William and David Bernard of NY and Jackie Williams of AR, a treasured aunt to many nieces, nephews and godchildren. She will truly be missed by her family and friends. Sylvia was an Elvis Presley fan. She enjoyed camping, fishing, watching football especially the Raiders and social gatherings. Her favorite companion was her dog, Madison. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Sylvia was an active participant in the Relay for Life Races.
