   WINOOSKI - Barbara J. (Douse) Luce, 58, a longtime resident of Winooski, died unexpectedly Sunday, Nov. 10, 2002, in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.
   Barbara was born in St. Johnsbury on Aug. 13, 1944, the daughter of the late Howard and Eunice (King) Douse.
   She was a graduate of Lyndon Institute, Class of 1962.
   Barbara was married in West Burke on Jan. 15, 1972, to Clayton Luce.
   Barbara was formerly employed at IBM and at Colchester and Winooski school lunch programs and most recently at Vermont Toy and Hobby in South Burlington.
   She adored Volkswagens and was a Volkswagen collector, but she mostly enjoyed her family.
   Barbara is survived by her husband of 30 years, Clay Luce; their three children, Michael Luce of South Burlington, Sandra Luce of Jamaica Plains, N.Y., and Marie Luce of Meredith, N.H.; her brother, Harold Douse and his wife, Corinne, of Milton; two sisters, Evelyn Franz of West Burke, and Linda Broome and her husband, Ray, of East St. Johnsbury; her father-in-law, Harold Luce; and several nieces, nephews and in-laws. She was predeceased by her mother-in-law, Edith Luce.
   Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 1 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church on South Winooski Avenue in Burlington. Interment will be at a later date and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Vermont Affiliate Inc., P.O. Box 485, Williston, VT. 05495, or the Alzheimer's Association, Green Mountin Chapter, P.O. Box 1139, Montpelier, VT 05601. Visiting hours will be Tuesday, Nov. 12, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the LaVigne Funeral Home, 132 Main St., Winooski.
